Shards of War is now in open beta, meaning that all you have to go is register an account, download the client, and jump straight in. This not only keeps the action frantic, but also ensures that you will be able to more easily commit to a game than, say, sitting down for a solid hour at a time. Unlike a number of other MOBAs, which can clock in at between 35-60+ minutes per contest, each match in Shards of War is rigidly timed at 20 minutes.
It’s not just the enemy team that’s working against you, though – it’s time itself. You can turn the tide of battle in your favor by gaining control over neutral drones at the center of the map – the team which controls these neutral drones will have a distinct advantage in pushing their lines forward and overwhelming the enemy base. Of course, the opposition is attempting to do the same, and when the two teams meet it will be the squad that works better together who will ultimately come out on top. But saying this and doing this are two very different beasts, as you will have to push three different waves of battle-ready drones towards the enemy base. The goal of each battle in Shards of War is simple: destroy the enemy base. While it has become accepted to control your champion’s movements through mouse clicks, Shards of War gives you complete control over your Sentinels with the WASD-movement configuration made popular in so many games. Shards of War is a five-on-five team-based MOBA that streamlines the formula and deposits players into a science-fiction world filled with diverging realities, fantastic technology, and ever-present chaos. Now, as the world we knew crumbles, powerful Sentinels have risen some pledging to defend our world, and others vowing to conquer it. With these roadways opened, humans from hundreds of different timelines have spilled into ours, sending Earth into chaos as each dimension struggles for control over the Earth, and the gateways to the other realities. In the future humanity has unlocked the science to open “Shards,” gateways into parallel dimensions. They’ve just recently announced their beta, and we’re excited to be able to support them with the official Shards of War Wiki. Bigpoint Games comes on the scene with Shards of War, offering a unique take on the genre while keeping the gameplay familiar to what MOBA fanatics expect. When selecting a locked pawn or variant, your progress will appear below the rotating pawn preview. Collect enough shards and a new pawn or variant will automatically unlock!Ĭheck out the available pawns, variants, and your progress towards unlocking them under the March Pawn Menu. The most common way to unlock these is by event participation. You can also unlock prestige variants and special event pawns by completing various feats in-game! You can select a different March Pawn for each Army Formation you have saved. There are 11 March Pawns that are unlocked by default: Baratheon, Bolton, Frey, Greyjoy, Karstark, Lannister, Martell, Stark, Targaryen, Tyrell, and the Soldier pawn. On the Combat Map, your army is represented by a March Pawn.
